Aachen, June 19, 2024 – The BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) held the 17th Plugfest in Amsterdam (Netherlands) from June 12 to 14, 2024. With 54 participants from 24 different companies, the event was a great success. The aim of the Plugfest was to test the communication between the participants’ devices via the BACnet protocol – including the latest generations of devices.

A particular focus was on secure data transmission with BACnet/SC. In this area, the requirements of secure data transmission meet classic building automation, making the Plugfest an important platform for the further development and improvement of the interoperability of BACnet devices.

Christoph Zeller from Sauter AG was responsible for the technical moderation of the Plugfest. Zeller contributed his extensive experience from the BACnet working groups and made a significant contribution to the success of the event. The BIG-EU would like to thank Christoph Zeller for his outstanding support and expertise.

The Plugfest showed once again that BACnet is constantly evolving and adapting to the modern requirements of building automation. The BIG-EU will continue to promote future events that support co-operation and exchange between manufacturers and promote the further development of the BACnet protocol.
